Max Maccoby concentrates in international trade and business development, facilitating overseas investment in a number of industries, including security, energy, telecommunications, and agricultural products. Mr. Maccoby also handles civil litigation in the areas of commercial disputes, such as breach of contract, employment matters, malpractice actions, securities and commodities fiduciary misconduct cases, qui tam or False Claim actions, and criminal defendants.

Prior to joining Tighe Patton Armstrong Teasdale, PLLC, Mr. Maccoby was also an Assistant State’s Attorney in Chicago, Illinois, for eight years, where he was lead counsel or co-counsel in thirty-one jury trials and hundreds of bench trials, including murder, attempt murder, sex assault, reckless homicide, drunk driving, embezzlement, bank fraud, and other assorted financial crimes. In those trials, Mr. Maccoby has offered DNA, medical, ballistic, fingerprint, and accounting expert testimony. He was qualified by the Capital Litigation Trial Bar of Illinois to try death penalty cases.

Mr. Maccoby graduated from the University of Chicago, B.A. in 1992, and Syracuse University College of Law, J.D. in 1996, where he received the Excellence in Jurisprudence of Human Rights Award. He is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Illinois. He is on the board of directors for the nonprofit charity Friends of the Orphans Virginia and is an advocate for their cause.
